I dug deep in my pantry, wardrobe, office and mind to find the items sparking joy! I questioned if there was a was space amongst the clutter! This week we discuss 'Decluttering To Grow' with Susie White professional organiser. She helps us feel less overwhelmed, defensive and protective and more in control of our stuff rather than the other way around! Susie shares many practical tips and suggestions.
Decluttering and organising strikes a growth chord for me.
What I want: ease and flow, energised focus and creativity
What I do: avoid organising and tidying, pile stuff up, prioritise other things
What I get: mental and environmental clutter, chaos and frustration! Growth and decluttering both involve diving into the mess, getting dirty and rising up changed, improved and more confident in our environment and lives.
No doubt you have heard of Marie Kondo and her motto of "keeping what sparks joy". Beyond house-hold items; people, situations and jobs may not spark joy and shall be discarded! Enjoy learning with me from Susie. Key Takeaways: - You are never going to organise your office in a weekend!
- Start with 10 min's a day to impact
- 1st step is Decluttering : letting go or the keeping decisions and process
- There is a lot of fear in letting go, we hold on for the exception!
- 2nd step is Organizing: a new system to align how we want to live
- Do the work and reap rewards
- Involves behavior change, new habits
- The process drives future decision making and sustainability
