Diagnosed with bipolar at seventeen, Oliver has battled with euphoric manias, suicidal depressions and bewildering psychoses, as well as the side effects of psychiatric medication. He has spent time in mental hospitals in Norway, Australia and the U.K. and tried many forms of alternative treatment and a variety of medications. At one point it looked as if all was lost, but with a bit of help he turned it around and for the last five years he has been well and able to enjoy life.
