Happy Monday everyone! During my day off last week I took advantage of the warm weather and limited crowd to take a stroll in Eisenhower Park and record a segment. It's been a while since Finding A Better Way has been 'on location'! lol This particular video was inspired by a Zoom didactics lecture about Lifestyle Medicine, Stress Management, Resiliency and other self-care considerations. Y'know, only all of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE topics to dive into during residency! lol So, needless to say, I was thrilled to tune in. One concept that really resonated was the idea of focusing on your physiological state. When your mind is racing, work out the body to match the mind. Then when your body has calmed down, that change in physical state allows the mind to calm down, as well. So I whipped out my handy dandy calm book to put this in to practice.
