We sat down with 2 Black men who each served 11 years in prison—they share their deeply personal journeys of reentry into society over the past six years. They discuss the emotional and mental challenges of adjusting to life after incarceration, including struggles with employment, housing, relationships, and confronting stigma. The conversation explores the highs and lows they’ve faced, from moments of progress and personal growth to setbacks that tested their resilience. Despite the roller coaster ride, both men reflect on the importance of community, support systems, and inner strength in their ongoing efforts to rebuild their lives and advocate for others navigating similar paths.
