Foundations Part 5: Relationships

Nick Quigley

Original Air Date: 2024.06.16

Foundations... every house should have one. It is the concrete base upon which the entire house sits. Its function is to keep the house upright and stable. What is important about the foundation of the house is that it must be done correctly and with the right material or it will crack, settle, shift, or even come apart causing damage, or in severe cases, collapse.

What about other foundations? The foundation of our relationships, our belief systems, and our worldviews are equally, if not more, important. Jesus teaches in Mark 3:24-25 “If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.”

This division comes from unstable or poorly laid foundations that have come from multiple sources... the educational system, government, news and social media, well-meaning friends or family, and our own thoughts and ideas. The fact is just as the stability of a concrete foundation depends on the quality and consistency of the material in it, the foundations in which we build our lives upon must also be of good quality and consistency – and there is only one place we are guaranteed to get this... God and His Word.

This summer, we will be spending some time laying biblical foundations in the areas of Creation, Morals, Authority, Relationships, Truth, and Purpose. These foundations will keep us stable when we and our families are challenged by the philosophies of the world.

Our series will begin the weekend of Saturday May 18th and Sunday May 19th - and we would love to have you invite your family and friends!
