The name Ebenezer usually makes us think of the miserly Scrooge of “A Christmas Carol” fame.
But did you know there’s an older Ebenezer than that?
In 1 Samuel 7, Samuel sets up a large stone between two places and names it Ebenezer, which means “stone of help” because the Lord had helped them win a battle there. The stone was something the Israelites could look at and be reminded of how God had helped them.
Maybe we don’t set up physical stones in our lives, but sometimes things happen in our lives that we can directly point back to and say, “God helped me there.”
In today’s episode Ivy Lassiter describes just such a time.
We hope you’ll listen as Ivy describes the ups and downs of following God throughout her life.
