From humble beginnings as hired help at a gig on a uni campus, to running the ULU venue in London, our guest on Sheer Isolation this week is promoter rep and tour manager, Graeme Nash.
We talk about his career progression over the years, and what he's been doing through 2020 as, like so many other people who rely on the actual 'gig' economy, Graeme's diary has been empty since lockdown with no sign of major music events restarting any time soon.
We've picked two cracking local bands to feature this week - a new release from Swindon's long-term indie-pop outfit Talk In Code, and Graeme's picked a tune from his home town - Chippenham's Bad Sounds... perfectly described by Intermission Bristol as 'a hip hop infused ode to dog walking'.
The Sheer Isolation podcast is created weekly to promote the music scene in the West of England. It's created by Kieran Moore in Trowbridge and Jon Ponting near Cricklade.
