Description

With nightclubs forcibly closed across the UK, the dance industry is struggling to survive 2020.

And just like live bands, DJs currently have no venues to perform in, and no gigs on the horizon.

On this week's Sheer Isolation we're joined by John Mustoe - a Gloucester based DJ who would usually spend his summer on stages across Europe.

He talks to us about the extra challenges facing DJs and nightclubs during the pandemic, the problems with playing sets in a Covid safe environment, tells us about Gloucester's diverse, yet mostly undiscovered music scene, and we also talk about Gloucester FM - a community radio station which is celebrating it's 21st birthday this month.

Meanwhile, Kieran bigs up a new release from Stay Voiceless, and picks a fight with the Performing Rights Society.

Two tunes as always - we feature a track from last week's guest, Sean McGowen, and introduce some Gloucester funk courtesy of Gillespie and Co featuring Boston singer, Raphaelia.

The show is created by Kieran Moore in Trowbridge and Jon Ponting in Cricklade.

Thank you for your continued positive feedback on this series.

Listen out for us on community radio stations across the region.

Musicians are very welcome to send us videos to feature as well as any news or gigs - virtual or otherwise - sheerisolation@gmail.com
