“It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you, but for blasphemy, because you, though only a human being, are making yourself God.”

Although they are not the chosen race, many people of the world threaten Christians with the words with which the Jews blamed Jesus. They accept many benefits from Christian services to society – education, medical services, services for the homeless, orphans, pregnant women, victims of human trafficking, etc. However, when Christians proclaim the Good News and teach faith and morals, the world accuses Christians of infringing upon human freedom, thus, human dignity as an autonomous being. People do not want any higher authority to guide or teach them. They want their desires and satisfactions to be their gods. Thus, when they hear the Good News and teachings of the Church, they feel that their gods are insulted.

I believe the time is coming that the world starts oppressing Christians in visible ways. It seems the arrogance of secularism has crossed the point of no return. And it is lamentable that many Christians take part in oppressing Christ and his faithful – particularly in life and family issues.

Faithful Christians should prepare. And we need to pray for the conversion of our society. Our power and work will not change much. Only the Lord can. And, then, the world will know who is the true God.“It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you, but for blasphemy, because you, though only a human being, are making yourself God.”
