Description

It is natural to feel anger when we see evil people. We wish they pay for the harm they cause and receive just punishments. However, what Moses did was different when God had revealed to him the plan to punish the rebellious and idol-worshipping Israel. Instead of hope for justice and punishments for Israel, Moses pleaded with God for mercy and forgiveness. He beseeched God that Israel might have a chance to turn away from their evil ways.

Whenever our Blessed Mother makes an apparition, she never forgets to ask Catholics to pray for wicked sinners in the world. She always invites us to pray for the conversion of sinners. Why does she not promote the speedy execution of justice and punishments on wicked people? We do not have enough time to pray for our beloved ones and friends. But why should we spend time for the benefit of wicked people?

Moses was a type of Christ. Moses demonstrated what the Messiah would do. Moses interceded for Israel and became a mediator between God and Israel. The mission of Christ was to save sinners. He came to call sinners, not the righteous. Christ is the Mediator who saves the evil people through their conversion.

The Blessed Virgin was a model of the Church. As the Church shares the mission of Christ, the Blessed Virgin also shares Christ’s mission. And she wants to save sinners and encourages us to pray for the conversion of sinners.

Our Lady of Fatima asked us to pray and do penance and mortification for the conversion of sinners. It may be counter-intuition. But that is all Catholics' duty – to pray for sinner so that they may have a conversion, receive salvation, and join eternal happiness.
