Today, we begin a series of message through the Old Testament book of Joshua in the Bible.  Moses had been the revered and respect leader of Israel for the last 40 years.  He had just died, and Joshua, his vice-president, was tapped to take his place.  The people knew Joshua, but they didn't know if he was up for the challenge of taking over from Moses.  The nation was entering a new era.  Joshua was their new leader.  They were facing a new risk.  And they needed a new courage.  How would things turn out for them?  The book of Joshua was written for people like us today who are going through uncertain times, with new leaders, and new challenges.  Sometimes we wonder where the courage will come from.  This message invites us to think about our own challenges and how God can provide us with the courage we need to face our risks today.
