Ruth 1 is the opening scene of this famous love story of God's grace in the Scriptures. We see covenant disobedience and curse at first displayed in the family of Naomi. Yet the grace of God comes through in the life of Ruth in her display of courageous faith and commitment to Naomi and the God of Israel. She is a picture of the Gospel in the life of Naomi.
