In today’s episode I am chatting with Ros Lockley, a trainer, mediator and coach.
Ros is a trainer, mediator and coach living on the outskirts of Canberra, regional NSW. She is also a mother of four children.
Growing up on a farm outside of Cootamundra, NSW, Australia, and her mother dying when she was only 9 years old, Ros wanted training in parenting to help her to parent confidently. It was through wanting to discipline her children without damaging the relationship she has with them that she found Parent Effectiveness Training (or P.E.T.).
After working with many parents who feel the same way, she realises that we all have experiences in life that lead to wanting to improve our parenting and communication skills. ‘After all,’ she says, ‘we would get training for any job we do, and parenting is the most important job we ever do as we are raising the next generation.’
