Carlos, Daniel, Diego, and Takashi discuss the topic of education reform in K-12 public schools and in university settings. Diego joins us from Chiapas, Mexico.
Diego Suárez Rojas, born and raised in Chiapas, is a bioethicist trained at the University of Chicago. He studies bioecological approaches to the epidemiology of stress, workplace conditions and critical theory, multimodal treatments for trauma (behavioral nudges, art therapy, neuroscience and health education), and clinical and behavioral interventions for international development and policy reform. Currently, he is the founder and director of “Laboratorio en Movimiento,” a social research lab in the south of Mexico that designs interventions, offers specialized education and therapy options, and promotes the divulgation of science. Through “Laboratorio en Movimiento,” Diego has enacted mixed-methods interventions, concentrating on how workers’ levels of stress correlate with the functioning of a society. He has produced research insights alongside cops, teachers, and healthcare workers in comparative frameworks. He is an incoming student in the combined MSW/Ph.D. program at Boston College School of Social Work.
