It took me a minute to get to part 2 of Freedom's Song, but I finally got there.
This is the second part of the conversation on severing the cords of our obsession with trickle-down white equality – gaining freedom and equality through White approval and acceptance. I continue to make the case that addressing the psychological injustices inflicted on the African American psyche and our inner freedom is just as significant to our overall well-being as our external fight for freedom.
In this episode, I continue to discuss my proposition to engage in a psychological rite of passage that starts on an individual level. It sets the stage for subsequent episodes of Raw Talk on coming out of the closet about our fear of success, and why we’re so hell-bent on resisting our highest good.
