Jesus, in his Sermon on the Mount, tells his followers that unless their righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees they cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. I read those words recently and pondered these two questions:
1) What is the righteousness of the Pharisees?
2) How do I exceed it?
In this episode, I note how Jesus answered both those questions immediately after warning those who would hear that they needed a Pharisee-exceeding righteousness.
