The song I share in this episode was written as I contemplated Philippians 2:5-11 and sought to honor Jesus, the Son of God who humbled himself to save the world, and who God, the Father, exalted to the highest place. My prayer as you listen is that you will bend your knee to Jesus and humbly confess him as Lord to the glory of God the Father.
Humbled, Exalted
Verse 1:
Humbled, God became a man
It was the Father’s plan to save the world
Humbled, the Son, as servant came
Took the cursed man’s blame to save the world
Humbled, the sinless sacrifice
He paid the awful price to save the world
Humbled, hanging on the cross
Enduring pain and loss to save the world
Verse 2:
Exalted, to the Son be highest praise
Our hands to heav’n raise; He saved the world
Exalted, the name above all names
Is His, the church proclaims; He saved the world
Exalted, see the crown upon his brow
Before Him humbly bow; He saved the world
Exalted, with our tongues we all confess
Jesus’ blood, our righteousness; He saved the world
