Daphne Orlando was born and raised on Long Island, NY with her two five-foot sisters by a short Italian father and a petite Dominican mother. After the adoption of her two sons, one from Guatemala and the other from South Korea, she followed her curiosity to learn more about how people are impacted by the fashion and textile industry all over the world. This led to Daphne setting aside her previous career in medical illustration to found EcoPetites, which is one of the first sustainable brands to design and create ethical clothing specifically for shorter women.
