Seeing as it’s approaching Halloween, we have a good ol’ long-winded discussion about everyone’s favourite overblown, sequel-ridden, gorefest of a decade: the 1980s! It was a time when Freddy, Jason, AND Michael were roaming the celluloid, stalking and slashing young, rather good-looking people; it was a time when horror was thought to cause a moral panic; it was a time when makeup maestros like Rick Baker, Tom Savini and Greg Nicotero were coming into their element; and, well, it was a time when we had this weird thing the kids today probably wouldn’t have a clue how to operate or describe: video.
