Greetings to you!
This is Apoeticnovelist podcast. A show that brings you to poetry and stories.
Your host and Guardian Angel all the way from Lagos Nigeria: Okon Ukeme Cornelius Dominic
Come let's tell our tales of fear, doubt, joys, happiness and love in poetry and stories.
Today the Guardian Angel went around the world. He found the street deserted and he's welcomed by echoes of sadness. He could feel the chilling breeze blowing and goosebumps sprouting on his fresh skin. Mournful flute of wailing greeted his ears. The movies of hands stretched out through the windows for help. Voices calling on their maker to rain hope upon them. Again waters fall from his eyes: the knife of their grief had cut deep into his heart.
Africa caught his attention: he flew landed in Nigeria. Tua a little girl and her family were dying and they composed a poem. He stood by the window and listen them (Tua in Ibibio means to weep). The whole family went on their knees and prayed: they looked up to heaven with tears flowing down their chin.
Sentenced to Starvation
Rain drops of tears
Hope a puff out of my lungs
Bounded by grief
And left alone indoor
Our government has blown the flute
Of death sentence by isolation
We fear the beast
Ravaging souls and cities
But in disguise they condemned us
To Eku (death) by loneliness
Our minds imprisoned
By depression and anxiety
Our daily bread comes
By hourly struggles
Our stomachs are empty
Like riverbed in the desert.
