Even when they do not have any family history of baldness, they may face this problem. “One should never trust Henna brands available in the market. Though they claim it is natural, it is often not so in reality. The hair roots on the scalp may face permanent damage after coming in contact with them over a period of time. It seems this has happened in your case,” explained Dr John Watts. Though people are often forced to make use of Henna brands as an alternative to other chemical hair dyes due to social pressure to sport black hair, the chemical-laced Henna may also affect the quality of hair besides causing hair thinning and baldness in the long run. Whether Kali Mehndi or Black Henna, whatever they are called and marketed, no one can be sure if they contain chemicals as such information may not be disclosed by the brands.
