Hi all!!!
Quick shout out to my oldest daughter who is proudly and bravely defending our people as a member of our armed forces! I don't think anything I ever personally do, will come close to that! So proud of you!!!
Please have her and all of her fellow soldiers in your prayers today and every day.
This week's episode is entitled 'Bamidbar: On Harmony'
Harmony is not usually a word we associate with coaching. I get that. We would more often speak of congruence and alignment whether around an idea, a plan, or a goal. However, just based on the way I think about the work and the goals we are trying to achieve, I don't think those terms go far enough, nor do they always get us to where we ultimately want to be. This is why I am partial to the term harmony. When we think of harmony in the sense of flow, being in sync, teammates intuitively knowing where to go, what to do, and how to act, then we can see how this idea fits into Coaching With The Bible.
In this week's first episode of the Book of Numbers, we talk about harmony and how we see that concept built out by the architecture of the encampment of the people of Israel in the desert. We'll go a bit deeper and learn from the concept of 'emergence' as it relates to the way fish swim schools and birds come together as a migrating flock.
We will then touch on an interesting approach to building harmony within our teams based on a structure first introduced by Dr. Bill Tuckman in the late 60's known as 'Forming, Storming, Norming, and Performing.'
Ah!!! So much to learn and so little time!
Happy Learning!
PS Wishing all a Shabbat Shalom and a Shavout Same'ach (Happy Day of Receiving The Bible!!).
