Description

'While I made my living as a coach, I have lived my life to be a mentor- and to be mentored!-constantly. Everything in the world has been passed down. Every piece of knowledge is something that has been shared by someone else. If you understand it as I do, mentoring becomes your true legacy. It is the greatest inheritance you can give to others. It is why you get up every day- to teach and be taught.'

Hi all!

Welcome back! I hope you had a great great holiday.

Quick question as always to get us started:

^ Who do you consider 'mentors' in your life?

Ok, what makes those individuals a mentor vs being a teacher or a coach? Is there a difference?

^ What value have they brought to your life/ impact have they had on you?

This week, in Episode 135 (S3:E26), we'll begin a conversation on Mentors.

We'll take a detour from the portion of the week and dip our toes in the classic work known as 'Ethics of the Fathers', a tractate of the Mishna that quotes hundreds of what you might call 'mottos', 'words to live by' or in the modern day, 'personal hashtags' of the most famous sages from the 1st thru (approx) 4th century.

As always, happy learning, and let me know what I missed and should have discussed.
