LGBTQ+ people exist, they are in our families, workplaces, and schools and we can no longer ignore their presence.

Due to their classification, the majority face discrimination and this is not right because just like other people they have human rights.

In schools especially, there is a divide between teachers, school administration, and parents on whether issues surrounding LGBTQ+ should be taught to students.

Much as everyone is entitled to an opinion surrounding how they would want their children to be raised, it is important to be aware of the diversity in the world and for that case needs to be addressed and that is why Destiny Clarke, an LGBTQ+ Educational Consultant and former teacher who helps teachers, school leaders, and caregivers create communities of care for LGBTQ+ youth graced us with her point of view.
