Bible Text: Ephesians 1:18-20.
This teaching is a continuation of our understanding of the hope of the calling of God. In understanding hope, one of the definitions is to anticipate, usually with pleasure the great feast of the Lord.
Hope is not just anticipation, hope is anticipation with pleasure. This means that until pleasure is added to anticipation one will be hopeless thinking that he/she is hopeful. our hope in Christ must not be only in this life, else we will be the most miserable of all men. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
1Corinthians 15:19.
One event in eternity that keeps the saint hopeful is the great feast of the Lord. The Bible says "Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God."
Revelations 19:7-9
To this end, the Great Feast which is the Marriage Feast Of Jesus and the Church is the highest of God's calling for the enlightened in Christ hence, we must live ready for this great feast. It is unacceptable to live unprepared for the great feast of the Lord as Christians.
