Praise to the name of God must be done solemnly and sincerely because the act of praise to God is a formal transaction; singing, playing, and dancing before God ought to be a serious business.
The truth remains that any praise carried out in tears is preferred by God to praises accompanied by laughter. It is in this case that our tears go up to God as sweet incense.
