In ancient Israel, the blessing of a biological father was next to that of God. Isaac blessed Jacob and the blessing empowered him to succeed in life.
More often, we associate the blessing of God with wealth, influence, health, opportunities, power, and all the good things that life has to offer. But, in fact, true blessing -the blessing of God, is better described as the influence of the Spirit of God on the spirit of man resulting in a sense of wellness in the soul.
