As agents of Jesus, we cause things to happen for Christ Jesus on the earth. Through the power Christ delegated to His disciples, we can cause things to happen for Christ (Luke 10:19).
Delegation is mostly done on the grounds of trust. So, when Jesus gave unto His disciple's power, it means that Jesus trusted His disciples after training them for three and half years.
Also, Jesus trusted in His finished work done on the Cross for His disciples and humanity, not in the inadequacies of His disciples.
