This profound yet simple teaching episode brings to you the reason why Jesus chose to use the ceremonial cleansing jars to perform the miracle of turning water into wine. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8) however, His operations are dynamic. Hence, God is not powerful because He performs miracles, He is powerful because He is God.
Ceremonial jars were made from stones also referred to as cisterns. These vessels could not be contaminated because they were made from stones and were only filled with living (or flowing) water (Leviticus 11:36; 15:11). Jesus Christ highly esteems purity and doesn't care about the type of jars/vessels we are but our state. It is the state of a vessel that determines its fitness to be used to produce sweet wine that will bless the heart of people. The state of a vessel also determines if it will be counted as an honorable one or not. (2 Timothy 2:20-21)
Grace presents us before the Father as purified and sanctified, discover your responsibility as a vessel of God and how God rewards our responsibility.
