Putting a positive spin on things, finding the bright side, and asking people to seek gratitude comes natural to a lot of us parents. We do this from parent to parent and even more, we do this with our kids when they are showing discomfort or disappointment in something we don’t necessarily understand or agree with. Whitney Goodman, LMFT and author of Toxic Positivity, joins us in helping to explain this phenomenon, and then gives us some ways to counteract it.
