Description

Lisa Mullan has a degree in Biochemistry, a Phd, and speaks two languages. She joined the Welcome Trust Genome Campus in Cambridge in 2001 and worked there as Scientific Training Officer until she had her daughter in December 2006 and became a stay at home Mum for 7 years. When her second child went to school, she focused her attention on an idea she had been quietly harbouring for a very long time: turning the chemicals that make up DNA into 'cuddlies' so she could share the information with younger children.

Impressive though that sounds (and a wonderful inspiration for women everywhere), like most of us, Lisa has had hurdles and obstacles to hinder her progress. This conversation sheds light on the journey and how it has been a longer and harder haul than she ever thought possible, in terms of work, mindset change and confidence building.
