It's easy to believe that chronic stress will be triggered by work overload and that if we can just remove some of the things on our to-do list, we'll feel better. In midlife, overload can be common - and I talk about it as a factor in meltdown. However, it's not what occurs in our lives but how we feel about what occurs in our lives. In other words, if it doesn't stress us, it isn't stress.
