LEVITICUS – CALLED TO SACRiFICE
1. UNDERSTANDING SHADOW & LIGHT:

· Covering: A Fallen World Needs Sacrifice, (Gen. 3:21).
· Calling: A Called People Need To Sacrifice, (Gen. 4:3-4).
· Communion: A Divine Relationship Needs Sacrifices, (Gen. 8:20-21).
3. UNDERSTANDING THE 5 MAJOR LEVITICAL SACRIFICES: (1-10)
a. THE BURNT OFFERING: (Lev. 1)
· Hebrew Definition: Olah = An Ascending Holocaust.
· How: Whole Offering Was Burnt On The Altar, (1:8-9).
· Key: The 1st Sacrifice Dedicated All To God, (1:3).
b. THE MEAT/GRAIN OFFFERING: (Lev. 2)
· Hebrew Definition: Minha= A Grain Gift.
· How: Meal Was Burnt On The Altar & Eaten By The Priest, (Lev. 2:1-3).
· Result: The 2nd Sacrifice Secured Fellowship With God, (2:11).
c. THE PEACE OFFERING: (Lev. 3)
· Hebrew Definition: Shelem = Safety In Mind, Body, Estate.
· How: Fat Was Burnt On The Altar, (3:3-4).
· Result: The 3rd Sacrifice Secured Wellbeing With God, (3:1).
d. THE SIN OFFERING: (Lev. 4)
· Hebrew Definition: Hatta’t = An Offence & Its Penalty.
· How: Blood Sprinkled & Smeared, Fat Burnt, Remainder Burnt Outside, (4:4-12).
· Result: The 4th Sacrifice Ensured Forgiveness From God, (4:20).
e. THE TRESPASS OFFERINGS: (Lev. 5)
· Hebrew Definition: Asham= Guilt Or Fault.
· How: Sacrifice Offered, Money Paid, Items Restored, (5:15-16).
· Result: The 5th Sacrifice Removed Guilt & Made Restitution, (6:4-7).
4. LESSON: Sacrifice Is God’s Way, (7:37-38) And No Strange Ways! (10:1-3).
