STAY ON SCRIPT! (Numbers 20:7-13)

Preface: Life can be challenging, circumstances can careen out of control, and at times things can be downright tough. During these moments, we need a survival kit to help us. The Survival Kit series seeks to provide us withtools that will shield us in the storms, succour us in the valleys, and safeguard us from our enemies. In Part 1, entitled Stay On Script!, we will discover that God has written an eternal script for our lives; however, at times, people, the devil, and even our own decisions can throw us off that script. Harnessing our history while handling our hurts will help us stay on script as we make the journey home. Like King David, when faced with hard times, we “shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD!” (Ps. 118:17). When it is over, we will speak of God’s goodness, but for now, let us stay on script, and we will survive!

1. HISTORY – STAY ON SCRIPT DESPITE THE PAST:

• Stay On Script After Deliverance, (Ex. 14:15).
• Stay On Script After Miracles, (Ex. 15:24).
• Stay On Script After Manna, (Num. 11:4).
• Lesson: The Past Must Be A Memory Of Not Memorialized In The Mind!

2. HURTS – STAY ON SCRIPT DESPITE THE PAIN:

• Listen: Emotions May Cloud His Script, (Num. 20:8).
• Learn: Frustrations May Miss His Story, (Num. 20:11).
• Last: Hurts May Miss His Sovereignty, (Num. 20:12).
• Lesson: Authentic Action Must Overcome Reaction.
• Authentic Action Is True Self Control, Not External Control.

3. HOME – STAY ON SCRIPT DESPITE THE PEOPLE:

• In Disbelieving Moments, Be Confident! (Num. 14:8).
• In Disqualifying Moments, Be Chosen! (Num. 14:23).
• In Dangerous Moments, Be Careful! (Num. 20:13).
• Lesson: Today Must Be Managed Well For Tomorrow!
