Life can be difficult, monotonous, or just, not what we envisioned for ourselves. I mean, the picture I held in my mind when I was in my 20’s and the life that I have lived are not even on the same continent. So I get that, Then we can also be stuck in a rut, fighting habits that don’t serve us, or have fear ruling our lives. There are so many things that we can be dealing with. You might feel that you are different and that no one else is suffering from the things that you are. You might feel that you are broken and that changing your emotions is out of your power. It is very common for people to feel that way. Maybe you are looking for a drug that will “FIX” you. Because that is quite common too. But in all of these feelings and all of these thoughts the one true thing about them is they are felt by many. The truth is you are not alone in these feelings.
- Warm up each day: Do 15 mins of stretching, running, or aerobic exercise. This will improve blood flow, get you feeling fresh and prevent minor aches and pains.
- Have a schedule for your day: Include time for reading, meditating, moving, Family time, and things that improve your life.
- Set a particular time to go to bed and one to get up. Follow a ritual for preparing for bed include a wind down period. Have the lights turned lower for at least one half hour before bed. Make sure the room is completely dark.
- Stay away from sugary drinks, Eat foods rich in micronutrients: If you are getting calories from drinks it is tough to not over consume and be overweight. Our bodies are not meant to drink calories. It is important to your health to eat foods that are high in fiber and that are nutrient dense. Eat lots of veggies with every meal. The more color on your plate the healthier it is.
- Supplement: You need more vitamins and minerals than the food we produce now have, to get the same nutrition from a bowl of spinach grown in the 1950s it would take 6 bowls today. - Treat people with kindness and politeness: This will make you more likable and people will be more likely to help you out. But it also creates in you a positive mindset which helps you to feel happier.
- Clean up your house: Some people think that they have a method to the madness but just start with the room you spend the most time in. The mental clarity that comes from being in a clean organized environment will elevate your mood and you will feel more motivated and efficient.
- Create a map of where you want to go: Whether or not I got there would be kind of a matter of luck without a map. If you don’t have a map you are in for a long and probably eventful trip.
- Create more and deeper relationships: Put this into your schedule. Spend time with people you have relationships with but also with those that you would like to build relationships with. These relationships will help you get the things that you want, they will help you feel more complete and whole. This can help you be happier, more open minded and gain more opportunities.
- Establishing boundaries: Learn to use “no,” “Sorry,” “that’s interesting,” and “go on” more often. These saying reduce stress, nip problems, and strengthen relationships.
