So stress can affect us in so many ways. It can affect our sleep, our digestion, the way our heart beats, or cause seizures. Our body is meant to deal with stress in small time periods 5 mins here 15 mins there. Stress's job is to protect us, it is to get us to move. We like to call it stress because we don’t want to refer to admit what it really is. Stress is a low level of fear that is with us for long periods of time. We can fear a loss: things like loss of love or acceptance, Loss of meaning like in loss of a job, the fear of the unknown. Right now that is a pretty big one for me just like it is for millions of others. Many are fearful that they will go to bed hungry. Some have fear that they will be mistreated by others. These are all fear based.

Where does the fear come from? It can come from experiences we have had or seen in the lives of others. I have a friend that feared being homeless. It was such a big fear that he packed his apartment with stuff from floor to ceiling with just a trail through the middle. He believed if he had enough stuff in there he would not be homeless again. But that did not help him keep his place. I know others that where so afraid to be alone that they would stay in abusive relationships, They would allow others to hit, kick, yell obsinities, or rape them and not leave because they feared being alone more than they feared the abuse. Now those that have experienced these things are not to blame that is not what I am saying. Those that hit, kick, yell, or rape they are making very poor choices, those that it happens to do not share any part of the blame.

But I got off topic. But fear is a big part of our lives today and it is not for short bursts of time but for long periods. Our bodies are not set up to handle these long periods of stress or fear. And because It is not set up for it. It causes dis-ease in the body. I have had ulcers, allergies, and seizures and they all started with fear, breaking down the body's system.
