Description

At the age of 16 Madilyn Paige was introduced to millions of people as a contestant and then the winner of Season 6 on “The Voice.” Madilyn told how right before this she was so shy that she would set alone at school during lunch. She has since written and produced songs like “We Are” The lyrics talk secrets, shame, and the pain that lives inside the dark but that is not who we are.

Then in her song “Foolish Game”

“I bet you thought you had me

I bet you thought you did me in

I'm running

Just when I thought it was the end

I knew I had to try and live again

I'm running”

In her most recent song “Body Image” She talks about  how we have to address the voices that tell us that we aren’t good enough.  In the Cores She asks the question “ Imagine me loving me what would that be like? Reflecting everything I could be if I tried.” What an amazing question that is. I hope you’ll Think about that. I certainly will. “Imagine me, loving me what would that be like?” If we looked as a society and we found the answer to that question our world would be a lot different right. In this world were the largest cause of death for people under 30 is suicide. If people could imagine them loving themselves. That would change things so much. If we reflected on what we could be if we tired. Can you see the power in those lyrics. I don’t know about you but knowing that those came from a 17 year old girl just amazes me. She has a whole lot more going on than I did at 17. I too was lost at 17. That is when I started wanting to leave this earth. I was not asking great questions like these. My story was about how I didn’t matter how I wasn’t good enough and unlovable.

Madilyn was asked “What advice would you give to individuals who are struggling with Self-esteem?

“Changing my negative thoughts to positive ones and focusing more on what I do have versus what I don’t really helped me overcome my insecurities and low self-esteem. Also remembering that I am truly irreplaceable and that comparing myself to others will get me nowhere and leave me unsatisfied with who I am.”

The reason I started this podcast was that I know from experience that these are the kind of messages missing in our world. I know that I am here to let each of you know this message. You are worthwhile, Worthy, and loved. This world needs this message now more than ever. Living these messages brings happiness. The messages we allow purchase in our mind are of our choosing. Madilyn speaks to how there are other “voices” that we all hear in our mind telling us we are not good enough. Or that we are unlovable, What runs through is not as important as to what we nourish, water and get to grow. Just like a garden the fact that weeds come up will not ruin the harvest if they are pulled they will not affect the outcome. It is if they are left and they take over space, nutrients, and water supplies and then reproduce that they will reduce the harvest. There is no one on earth like you so to compare yourself with anyone else takes away your uniqueness and makes you a carbon copay of someone that we already have. What would it be like if I loved myself? If I was everything I could be what would that be?
