In the last episode of AWA Road to Tokyo, we hear from Jamal Hill. At a young age, he struggled with some basic movements and was hospitalized for a few weeks after becoming paralyzed when he got the flu. It wasn’t until he was 23 that his parents told him specifically that he had a condition called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a neurological condition that affects the muscles in his arms and legs. Hill has a goal to teaching one million people how to swim and is doing this through Swim Up Hill. He has participated in the 2018 U.S. Paralympics Swimming Para National Championships and the 2019 World Para Swimming World Series Indianapolis. Give the show a listen to hear about Jamal's story and learn about Swim Up Hill.
