Description

On the ASF’s August Sounds from Scotland, we highlight two iconic artistic events across the Atlantic: the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the World's Piping Competition. Chief Executive of the Fringe Society, Shona McCarthy, welcomes American audiences to the Fringe with a preview of what's on this summer. We next hear from one of the ASF's favorite performance groups, Noisemaker, perform a song from Scots, currently at the Fringe.

We hear piping highlights from the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, and New York highland dancer, Stephanie Ward, tells us what it is like dancing in a tattoo. Master piper, Craig Weir tells us all about The Worlds piping competition in Glasgow, including some of the bands to watch.

Youth Ambassador Cameron Steer highlights one of his favorite bands at the Fringe this month, The Sorries. We finish by sharing some fantastic piping at Bryant Park from Tartan Day this year.

Our Podcast go live every third Sunday of the month!
