Dr Keisha talks with Alicia Appleton, the designer and founder of Amber Poitier, a New York-based company that makes and sells leather jewelry and accessories. She started Amber Poitier in 2015 to rediscover her love of making accessories and to share the healing properties of art with others. The sculptural and structural style of the jewelry is inspired by Alicia's hometown of New York and the organic shapes found in her Caribbean heritage. Her jewelry’s modern, avant-garde silhouettes are inspired by 17th and 18th-century European architecture using interlocking pieces of wood, metal, and leather. Amber Poitier jewelry aims to empower women and remind them of the dynamic people that they are.
