Description

The 16th-century Kabbalist (mystic), Elijah ben Moses de Vidas, described the royal image of the Torah explicitly, “When one carries holy books, one should act as though one is carrying the clothes of the king before the king”

Bible-“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew:7:12)Regardless of how we perceive other people to be, they are Almighty’s creations, and it is Almighty’s will for us to show respect to everyone.

Lives lived with out purpose lead to nothing but loss. “By the time!  Man is in loss, Except those who believe and do righteous good deeds, and recommend one another to the truth, and recommend one another to patience.” (Q’ 103:1-3)

However, filling our lives with purpose enables contentment and this allows us to show respect for each other and ourselves.  Respect for God means obeying Him.  Obeying God means we are in the enviable position of being worthy of others respect.  Failure to surrender to God leads to lives devoid of respect.  Treating each other with contempt, gossiping and backbiting shows a lack of respect in our lives.  Engaging in the great sins of lying, spying on others and using bad words also means we are not worthy of being shown respect by others.

Spiritualism is like an ocean and narrow identities are like small rivers bounded by banks with their course predetermined. Thus spirituality is far more inclusive, of several rivers into which all specificities merge into oblivion. And only the ocean remains. Mevlana Jalalad'din Rumi, when asked his identity, replied 'love,' as love is inclusive of all identities.
