Description

"The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not. I will keep the faith that you have placed in me." President Joe Biden

This week, we take the time to reflect on our personal heritages as we commemorate the Holocaust during International Holocaust Remembrance Day. We discuss the importance of advocacy and hope as they tie into the themes of Tu B'shvat, Jewish New Year of the Trees, as well. Tu B'shvat not only acts as a religious marker but a reminder to all of us to be caring for our Earth and promote Ecological Awareness. Reflecting back on Biden's Inauguration, we discuss the impact that Amanda Gorman, U.S. Poet Laureate, has had on us and many other Americans. We discuss her poem, The Hill We Climb, and how important it is to seek the light in times of darkness. Following this conversation, we highlight many of the acts and initiatives the Biden-Harris administration has been implementing. Focusing specifically on the recent rejoining of the Paris Climate Agreement, the federal mask mandate, and the repeal of the transgender military ban, we discuss how inspiring it is to have progressive leadership in the White House. We hope you enjoy this week's episode, and we will see you all next week!

Love,

Jackie and Hannah
