My guest this episode is Jess, from @Jess.olo.
Jess is a Medical Student from King’s College London and also a researcher holding a Masters of Research from Cambridge and several publications. Jess is also the author of 3 e-books and an active blog where she shares really valuable content for med students and med school applicants. With all these achievements you can understand why I was really delighted to have Jess on the podcast to hear everything about her journey and her work!
We start by discussing her journey into medicine and subsequently into research, including discussing how to bounce back from unsuccessful attempts and make yourself the best candidate. Jess tells us the details of her intercalated Master’s year at Cambridge, from
designing a project to submitting the final dissertation, and ALL the learning along the way! This will definitely help all medics that are thinking of intercalating or getting involved in research. What I love about Jess is her willingness to go get the information herself and get the info out there for others as well-sharing really is caring! Finally we discuss how to building a business, working on marketing and sales and tips on having a side hustle and passive income as a medic- really harnessing your full potential!
