Acts Chapter Two is all about the excitement of Pentecost, the launching of the church and the power of its impact, the unleashing of wind and fire and an explosion of expression that grabs everyone's attention, the inspiring message of a transformed man before a huge multicultural audience hanging on his every word, and the galvanizing of formerly frightened believers who are boldly living their faith in front of a fascinated world.
Acts Chapter One is easily overlooked because the followers of Jesus are simply waiting. Just waiting for something to happen. And we hate to wait! But this "waiting on the Lord" becomes the occasion for a great awakening. A spiritual awakening, faith-stretching preparation and soul-stirring anticipation are the essential prelude to all heaven breaking loose, answering the question: What Happens After Easter? Don't rush past the opening chapter of the earth-shaking Acts of the Apostles, and recognize that this drama is still unfolding, and understand that we are a vital part of ongoing Spirit-enabled action (Acts 29).
