Reflecting back on the ‘Resurrection Surprises’ sermon series, we briefly talk about the highlights that really stuck with us. Then Pastor Jane unpacks this phrase from the May 22 sermon: “Flawed, forgiven, and being transformed”. We are all children of the Fall who lost our intimate relationship with our Creator in a moment of wrong thinking. God’s plan for restoring this relationship rested on the shoulders of His Son Jesus.
It was Jesus’ death on the cross that makes it possible to us to be forgiven and to be back in joyful relationship with God. In addition to receiving forgiveness, we are given the Holy Spirit so that we can be transformed into being more and more like Christ.
Because Jesus died, our forgiveness is possible. Because he was resurrected, our transformation is possible.
