Welcome back to the Mindful Isle…our first episode of season four!
I’m so excited to be back in your ears sharing conversations about slow and sustainable living after almost two years. I’ve been in the depths of parenting two little people and trying my best to lean-in to the slowness and simplicity of these days. I’ve been plugging away at this season for the last few months behind the scenes, in nap times and the quiet of night. It has been such a joy to connect with a range of people across our island home and share thought-provoking conversations. I hope this series brings you comfort, hope and inspiration to lead a fulfilling and sustainable life.
We're going to kick off with an examination of Tasmania’s food waste levels. To shed some light on this complex issue, I spoke with academic and food waste warrior Irene Di Lauro. She's currently studying a PhD at the University of Tasmania, exploring sustainable food systems.
In this episode we discuss the issues driving food insecurity in Tasmania and the rampant levels of food waste, practical food waste reduction ideas, and opportunities for more equitable resource sharing.
Here’s Irene.
Thank you so much for listening in! I hope this episode has left you feeling inspired and empowered to lead a more mindful and sustainable life.
