We’ve been taught to believe that it’s the circumstance, event, situation, and environment that cause us to think, feel and act the way we do.

But the truth is that it’s never the parking, the traffic, event, or circumstance.

It’s your state of mind

Jon Gordon says, “The events and circumstances in life contribute to our life experience but our state of mind (level of consciousness) determines how we see the event, how it affects us and how we respond to it.”

High State of Mind: Clarity, peace, confidence and you’re able to rise above your circumstances

Low State of Mind: clutter, doubt, insecurity – get easily upset and instead of rising above your circumstances, your situation will bring out the worst in you

High State of mind, the traffic doesn’t bother you

Low state of mind, it does

High State of Mind, a bad call by a ref doesn’t bother you

Low state of mind – leads to yelling at the ref

High – Growth Mindset

Low – Fixed Mindset (event defines you)

Life is always coming at us, and our state of mind determines how we respond

What to do?

Don’t be defined by the events in your life (fixed mindset)

Life is happening for you, not to you

Create your world from the inside out, rather than reacting to what’s happening outside of you

We all experience the high and low states of mind – importance is to recognize when you’re in a Low and change it
