There are two different time systems: Employee and Entrepreneur
Dan Sullivan of Strategic Coach teaches that there are two different time systems that the world operates in.
The Employee mindset measures everything by two things: time and effort
· These are the people who feel that because they have put in the time, they’ve given the effort required to feel entitled for some kind of reward.
· “Hey, I put in the time, therefore I put in the energy and the effort. I should get paid, have an amazing marriage, great body, etc.”
· “My business should be booming, I watched the webinar, I listened to the podcast, I read the marketing book. I made an effort, so I should be smashing it.”
The Entrepreneur mindset does not measure the game based upon time and effort
· It’s not how much time it took me to do something, sometimes a project may take me 100 hours during the week, other times it may take an hour.
· The time it takes is irrelevant. What matters are the RESULTS
This is important to understand in my coaching to teach people to be optimal performing entrepreneurs. To be an optimal performing entrepreneur, it means that you are giving focus, effort, and attention to every area of your life, not just your business.
But that’s not to say that each area of your life is given an equal amount of time. Life does not balance that way!
But when you have specific goals and targets for each area (business & career, relationships, finance, health & fitness, spirituality, and personal development) the results are what matters the most.
