On this episode, the crew is joined by Boston artist, kei, along with her manager Sadiq. They both pulled up to the studio to discuss kei’s latest project, “Baby Steps”. Throughout the episode, we learn about her background, how she became involved in music, and her experiences in the Mass scene. Her debut released back in July 2021 and since then, she has gone on to perform at a different variety of venues and has become a radiant light in any space she enters. She opens up about her art background, being a dancer and writing a book of poetry. Poetry eventually evolved into lyrics and “Baby Steps” was born. The project is six tracks long and the project displays kei’s versatility and potential to get a crowd moving. Personal favorites are: “dead to me” and “Pressed”. She shares how she was able to construct most of her project during the pandemic and at the same time, she became more in touch with her spirituality. All of that is displayed in her performances. You can feel the energy while you’re watching from your seat. kei is all about her growth. She is looking forward to embracing her newfound support and creating new waves within the scene.
