Once a king had a thought about constructing a garden which was so beautiful that anyone who entered it would relax and feel joy and peace. He told his ministers to start working on it. Within some time the garden was ready. One day after an extremely tiring day the king thought about the going to the garden to relax. When he entered it he was shocked to see that each and every tree, bush, shrub were either dry or lifeless. He called for the gardener and asked him the reason for the plants to be in such a state. The gardener said that he had tried everything and was very disappointed that nothing was working. Then the king asked the apple tree in front of him why it was dying. It immediately pointed towards the pine tree and said, you see this tall and elegant tree, how short and stout I look in front of it. The gardener did not take care of me as he should have. Then he asked the pine tree why it was lifeless, to which it replied I dont bear fruits what's the use maybe the gardener does not know what he is doing. Similarly all of them had some excuse for their lifelessness. The king did not know what to do...as he turned to go back he noticed that there was one creeper which was healthy and full of life. Curious the king went to it and asked how it was thriving so beautifully even though the whole garden was not. To which it replied, I believe in the gardener and I'm here because he thought that I would add beauty and serenity. He knew that I have no attractive flowers, nor tasty fruits or exotic perfume, he just wanted a creeper here to make this spot perfect. This faith in the him helped me thrive.
Dont we do the same things ? Blaming everyone who we think have authority over us. Feeling like a victim, needing to sabotage ourselves to prove that we are right? Comparing ourselves, finding excuses, not giving our best? Making us believe that we are helpless leading us to feel resentful of whoever is in a position of power or authority. This mindset results in a loop that makes us want to escape the situation or the people responsible, not understanding that this is not the solution. The realization that circumstances are manifested for us to believe in ourselves or the power within us, starts to move the wheels slowly in resolving the situation. The objectivity to understand the situation and take a decision by having faith in our uniqueness can work for us. It is also the faith and trust in the larger picture and the knowledge that we are in the right position at this very moment and what can we do to make the most out of it. This mindset let's us reclaim our power and makes us feel special and thrive in the garden of life.
